The Evening Lecture Series is part of the larger event "Transitions and Speaking in Silence" in Minnesota, USA, during the month of July. This event will include Swami Veda's only US public appearances in 2012 and his last "Speaking/Silence" series in North America before he enters a 5-7 year vow of silence on 10th March 2013 in Rishikesh, India. The larger event will include three retreats lead by Swami Ritavan Bharati, Swami Ma Radha Bharati, Swami Nityamuktananda Saraswati, and Swami Ma Gita Bharati and HYT-TTP retreats. There will also be a Guru Purnima celebration, a Family Potluck Picnic, and an AHYMS-A meeting. In keeping with the theme, "Transition: Preparing to Receive through Silence," the evening lecture series will prepare us to receive the traditions teachings while Swamiji is in Silence. Swami Veda Bharati will be the keynote speaker on July 9 and will set the stage for the other speakers which will include Swami Nityamuktananda Saraswati, Dr. Rene David Alkalay, Sanjay Kumar, Salvatore Zambito, Ragani, Dr. Stephen (Stoma) Parker, and others. How is it that a mother is sitting in her house and her child is in an accident. And she gets this strong feeling inside, and she runs out and finds her child. How is the connection established? Because it is a link of love between the two minds – the mind of the mother and the mind of the child.
Because it is a link of love between the two minds - the mind of the mother and the mind of the child. The mind of the masters and those who are serving the masters - their mind is a motherly mind. If you are not a mother, you cannot be a teacher. When taking a teacher training program here, whether you are male or female, learn to be a mother. A mother to anyone who passes by you. A mother to anyone who comes to your class. A mother to anyone who has any suffering. A mother to anyone who has any need. Then you are a teacher. And the persons should feel that they are being mothered. So the connection between the master's mind and your mind is like the connection between a mother's mind and your mind.
